The Government acknowledges that the successful achievement of intended goals and expected outcomes depend on what happens in other sectors such as the food production in agriculture and the treatment and prevention of diseases in the health sector. A relevant curriculum in the education sector and reduction of gender inequality needs to be established. Accordingly, Government would like the targeted programmes under the health sector to be supported and complimented by educational efforts to improve nutrition, food production and the overall infrastructure in rural areas.

Furthermore, exploratory consultations would be made with the Malawi Government and prospective donors on the possibility of obtaining ambulance facilities in these clinics. The lack of electricity in this area then becomes an issue of life and death, since many varieties of retroviral drugs as well as immunization drugs need refrigeration facilities for proper keeping. As regards HIV and AIDS, expansion of delivery of life saving drugs requires that testing centers and delivery points for medicines are brought closer to people where possible.
In this respect, raising the level of rural clinics to undertake these activities is one of the most economical and efficient ways to achieve these goals. Karonga Central Constituency would work with Government on how to address many of these issues as well as issues of staffing such clinics. Health education in schools would be encouraged in the constituency.
