The scope for involvement of small-scale and medium-scale enterprises in mining of minerals in Karonga is significant and will require partnership between the private sector and the public sector.
Some of the minerals identified, such as uranium and coal, exist in Karonga. Accordingly, efforts will be made to determine what other type of exploitable minerals exist in Karonga Central Constituency.
Small-scale and medium-scale enterprises will be encouraged to participate in the exploitation of such minerals and efforts will be made to assist such enterprises with the identification of appropriate financing needed to undertake such activities.
